Sixth Annual
Millbrook Pre-Festival Showcase

Morning Clinic Format and Afternoon/Evening Contest
September 18, 2010

The Showcase: Millbrook High School’s Sixth Annual Pre-Festival Showcase is an exhibition and a competition that will provide you with an excellent opportunity to be evaluated by some of the best and proven adjudicators in the state. The showcase will help you have a great season with one of two venues: the exhibition/clinic will allow your school to perform without the pressure of competition early in the season; the contest will allow you to take advantage of competition format in a setting that has proven to be a well run contest. Our goal is to host an event that will provide you with several educational options for your band.

Clinic Format: An evaluator/clinician to speak with students after the performance: The clinic will take place at a location just outside of the gate on a field across from the stadium. Clinicians will critique by caption

  1. Music Performance – Quality of Sound, Technique, Musicianship
  2. Visual Performance – Technique and Ensemble
  3. General Effect – Design and Performance

The Competition: The idea of a show early in the season that is competitive should have several benefits to be successful for the host and the schools attending.

    1. In each class: best in music, marching, percussion, guard, and first/second place over all.
    2. There will be an over all champion in the area of Drum Major.
    3. Grand Champion award goes to the highest accumulative score for the overall event.
    4. Note: In case of a tie, the music score will be the determining factor in the outcome.
