Each year the student has an account set up in their name. The account is used for collections of various items or fees: band camp, gloves, shoes, fundraiser deposits, fair share contributions, etc. As the dates for payment towards the items occur the amount is then subtracted from the student account. The following items are possible expenses for the year:
1. Band Camp:
The band camp fee covers the cost of band camp expenses: meals, shirts,
staff, props and anything else related to the field performance.
Budgeted amount for the show is $85 per student. Additional
due for Guard and Percussion members.
2. Gloves:
Each student needs to have one pair of gloves to use with their
marching
uniform. The price is $3/each.
3. Shoes:
Each student needs a pair of shoes to wear with their marching
uniform.
Shoes are ordered from Bando Co. and are $30/each.
4. Fair Share Contributions:
The band booster association supports our band at all functions during
the school year and at summer camps. The fair share anount is
$90.
5. Spring Trip:
6. State/Special Events:
Auditions for district band, all-state band, and other outside
performance
activities will have a fee that is not paid by the school funds.
The student account may be used for that fee.
You may credit your account in the following ways:
2. Monthly installments: a. Cash Payments: Each student account will be credited accordingly and in the following order: (If Band Camp has not been paid, monies will go toward that first, then follow in this order):
i. Fair Share
ii. Other miscellaneous items
b. Fundraiser Profit: Through the year, Millbrook High School Band Booster Association will hold various fundraisers. Upon completion of fundraiser project, a report will be provided by the event chair and approved by the Executive Board with copies made available at the monthly booster meeting. Once the report is approved, the Recorder will take the information given, and update the student account on the secured web page (students will be given a password and a numeric code indicating the particular student. Password and code is available by request from the Recorder). The account will be credited in the order as mentioned above.
c. Cash/Fundraiser Profit: As with the “Fundraiser Profit” example above, continue to work on the fundraising projects offered by the MHSBBA. After reviewing the web page to see your students account balance, compare this amount with where your student account balance should be.
3. Student Account Rollover:
In the event excess funds are in the students account at the
end of the school year, all money will rollover into the next school
year.
You may also receive excess funds that were paid in cash by you back at
the end of the school year (above $5). It is preferred though,
that
you allow your account to rollover. Students that will not be
enrolled
in band the following school year will have their account roll into the
Band Boosters General Fund. Graduating Seniors of that same
school
year may have their account rolled into one of the following
situations:
a. Students that are enrolled in the fall semester of a college or technical institute may have their account roll into a scholarship for that semester of continued education.
b. Students that have siblings starting or continuing in the next school year of MHS Band program, may have their account roll into that sibling(s) account.
c. Students may roll their account in the general fund of MHSBBA.
4. Fundraised Monies:
Credits to student accounts can be made through fundraisers.
