Welcome to MHS Band!
Hello and welcome to another exciting
year for the Millbrook Band program!
Band
Camp is quickly approaching and we want to ensure that all members are
prepared
for a fun and eventful marching season. It is crucial that every band
student
is ready
to put forth their best effort. Everybody plays a role in our
performances at the football
games and the weekend competitions. This means
that everyone is equally important to our successJ
With the great success that our
program has brought in the past, our band has
high expectations for what we can
achieve. We truly believe that this year we will keep
the tradition of
excellence alive. As long as each member puts forth their best effort,
we will
succeed.
It is mandatory for everyone to attend
Band Camp with a positive attitude and the willingness
to learn. You should
also come prepared with all of the items listed on the Band Camp
Survival Kit.
Be sure to show up a little early, because the earlier we can start,
the more
we can get done.
Our motto is “if you
are on time, you are late.” We hope to START
rehearsal at the posted
time,
so being at least a few minutes early would be greatly appreciated.
Having
a student arrive late will
slow down the band’s progress and it will even take
extra time to teach them what they have missed!
We also ask
that all band students follow the
rules given on the first day of Band Camp.
We want our next few weeks together
to run smoothly. This way, we will have
no problem achieving
our goals of success while having some fun as well!
We have great
things planned for everyone to bond
and socialize every day during Band Camp.
These will include competitions and the themed
dress up days. Not only are these
activities fun and
entertaining, but they also help all the students become
more familiar with each other. Our goal is to have fun while achieving
success.
We hope that you are having a great summer and we look forward to seeing you soon!
Don’t Forget to Practice and Memorize Your Music!!!
Sincerely,
Corrie Breshears- Band Captain
